For
the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2006, Pete created a garden design to
be enjoyed despite the unpredictability of the great British
summer.
Pete created an expanse of still water, with lilies and
deep water plants, densely edged by marginal and moisture loving
perennials. An area has been partially screened from the rest of
the garden by a selection of shrubs and trees, including
dogwoods, birch, alder and willow. This created a truly magical
place for the lucky owners to escape from the hurly burly of
everyday life.
A jetty extended across the water to a wooden building set on
stilts in the pond. The building had a covered front veranda
allowing this magical garden, with its naturalistic planting, to
be enjoyed whatever the weather.
With plenty of areas to sit and pond dip, relax on the
swing or just enjoy watching the aquatic life going about
its business in the centre of the pond-
-this is the perfect garden to enjoy...
